Steve believe what you will. Your truth doesn't apply to Mark, me or millions others. Run to your church for your sermons where you may find some ignorant support. We have heard too much of them already.

Steve,

Run the race FINISH the course..

Know what a standing stone is?
Joshua 24:26-27, Samuel 7:12,

Know what a passover was, and was it marked?
Exodus 12:26

Has God not always used ""markers"" ""remembrances"" over the years?

1Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

1Peter 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Very clear...very clear.... it is the resurrection of Jesus Christ that saves us.... the baptism??.......the ANSWER of a good conscience towards God.

What a standing stone it is!!!!!!!

I heard it put this way.....

" Jesus LEFT all heavens glory and the praise of angels...for a stock barn and the scorn of men.... was flailed, beaten, made to carry his own cross to Golgotha, and was spiked to a tree. Why??? LOVE ..... LOVE us He does.........He did all that for you. and you say you will not be baptized for fear of work? there is no work to do. I submit that if that is your stance,, the problem is with the heart...not baptism..."

Dan

Steve,

What you have laid out are not Universal truths. They are opinions, no more or less. A Universal truth can be proven factually to always be true. Your spiritual beliefs can not. That doesn't make your beliefs any less valid, beliefs are a matter of faith, but they can not be proven to contain any more or less truth than any other belief system.

Spiritual beliefs are not mathematical equations. If they were, computers would lay out our beliefs for us. If they were that easy, you wouldn't even have division between different sects of Christianity. Those differences are there because of individual interpretation, a mathematical equation does not allow for that individualism.
