There is a Canadian lawyer named Richard W. DeVries who arranges off-shore tax shelters by creating charitable foundations. Says he has clients world-wide.

Coincidence?

The docket for case no. CV1998-011535 lists LFT, Jeanette Bill and some others as defendants, it lists Richard W. DeVries as plaintiff, and it also lists what appears to be a Canadian financial institution: "Joint Venture Group-Canada".

I can't figure out what the latter party's role is in the case, though. They are not listed as "DEF" for defendant or "PLA" for plaintiff, but rather as "TPD", but I don't know what that means.

Taylor Communications Inc. is also listed in this case as having the status "TPD".

"06/29/1998FRAUD AND BREACH OF CONTRACT"

That's one of the two lines of information appearing in the online notes for case CV1998-011535.

I don't know what the significance or meaning might be, but is anybody interested to see this particular f-word show up in a document naming LFT?
