Where did the knowledge of good and evil come from?

Its mathematical... Tigerpaw, get on this will you? There is a formula for this in the world somewhere. :-) I'm convinced every living creature knows good and evil....

BTW Nova special on Einstein, presented in a very simple manner is airing again this week. This was pretty much the best Nova I have ever seen, check it out anyone whose interested....

< And why is there any knowledge of good and evil to begin with>

that's very simple.... think about it. A full belly is good, and an empty belly is bad. All evolution stems from the movement from one meal to the next. Consumption. Makes for a pretty strong case for the
developement of locomotion of some form, don't ya think! though some do pretty good at
staying in a fixed location and finding their meal comes to them..

not much evolution there, though ; mussels, barnacles, etc. LOL!. plants depend on polination by the locomotion of animals. Originally, locomotion was supplied by the eddying waters and winds themselves, and convections of heat and cold.

Life is endless motion: to the next meal! And Good and Evil? Yep, that's really a simple one...never saw a straving pope , though LOL!

The moral of the story goes for higher life forms like us that think we have got "religion" is: Upon how much blood & slaughter do you base
your survival on!

...and how much more enlightened and beneficent can you derive energy
for your continuence, with the need to sustain your populations upon the slaughter of innocent sentient creatures... Always makes me laugh
when good god-fearing christians, can't comprehend sacred cows wandering around the streets of INDIA...unmolested.

then again good god fearing christians have a hard time with the concept of Evolution too , LOL! As well as having some difficulty
with the first Commandment ....the greatest slaughter of god's innocent creatures, take place almost unanimously in Christian based societies...Killing to live unesscesarily is really the lowest form
of higher evolution, and a very repugnantly overlooked kind of conspicuous consumption. Very hard to be a moral and evolved being when you havent got the respect for the marvels of creation and the wonder of the universe in mind.

but alas, gave up on christianity a long time ago. Some kind of Sex and Drug Cult, No? Or was it a Roman Plot to pacify?

PS : On Einstein, one purpose of life is to stay alive, yes? "To have a sense of wonder and awe at the mysteries of the Universe, is what i think of when i think of a belief in God. He who doesn't have this sense mystery, is as good as dead!"

:-)

it is wasteful of energy to hunt predators.
they are generally more dangerous than prey...

>>Lions kill competitors and that's survival so it can't come from any evolutionary mechanism. The idea that we should not kill competitors is contrary to nature. But we believe that. So this knowledge came from somewhere else. It is in us all too. The ones it misses are labeled psychopaths. Where did the knowledge of good and evil come from?<<
