Read the papers - several times a year you read about some child who finds a gun and shoots his best friend. That is very true... But why??? Why when children today find a gun do these kind of things happen? When I was a kid my father had a loaded gun in his dresser.. We never touched it.. What's different today? I'll tell you.. Guns have been so demonized today in movies and the media. Parents do not even mention them in the home to their kids. I think most parents today shy away from teaching their kids the proper way to handle guns. They feel that if they teach them' somehow it will "get out" and they'll in turn be demonized by friends and relatives.. So the silence ensues and more and more kids get killed by their own lack of knowledge. JMHO.. C
