I'm afraid I wasn't being profound (although I would like to be <g>)... in a bull market like we have been having, I find the opportunity cost of not being prudently invested as being substantially more risky than that of being invested. I am very bullish (although in the very near term I expect another correction of around 10% within a month or so). This bull market to a large degree is being fueled by the vast inflows of liquidity while we baby-boomers are in our peak earning years and putting everything we can away for retirement. When the nation's demographics shift in about a decade, the bull market will slow down tremendously (and with it a tremendous opportunity). While it is wise to be in cash during periods when the market is temporarily overbought, a long term cash position is (in my opinion) a tremendous risk. Matt
