We are approximately 100 feet above the Flippen limestone and having to trip out of the hole to replace the bit (worn out). The drilling contractor opted to start the well with a used bit, and it has to replaced now. This trip is on the drilling contractor. Will probably result in a 3 - 4 hour delay. The good part of the story is that we will have a new bit which will give us consistant ROP data as we drill through our payzones. It is quite frustrating to have the bit wear out when you are in a zone and needing accurate ROP data. So this isn't all bad news. First glitch, and a minor one. Probably means I will get to go out for the zone in the middle of the night too. Will report again in the morning. Rod.
