Andre-- I am not mad at mgmt either,, but IMO they are not real great! I also believe if Eric were to leave we would see an increase in price as few have much faith in him and he lacks credability with many. CSCO has been great and will continue to grow. It may be overpriced now but will catch up,,, LOL--look for the dips. For long termers it will outperform coms unless serious changes are made IMO. SH equity--- to hell with the balance shhet if no one cares enough to buy and have it reflect in the shareprice. The chief duties of a CEO are to take care of the customers, employees, and SHs. To the best of my knowlege most customers are happy with products and services, too many mixed calls on employees but I keep hearing some engineers are being led away, nothing has been done to increase the share value,, (or as in the PALM proposal,, not done correctly). Why would anyone want to buy to watch it sit when the checking accout at the brokerage pays 5% and no fees are incurred ansd zero chance of a loss? Even more so when many other issues are moving up? They have done less than nothing,, as with the palm where they could have seen $3 SUSTAINED,, they have a clause that causes it to drop! "why should they listen to those who simply want a good trading opportunity or a measly buyout pop?" 1st MGMT has created the trading issue instead of an investment issue out of coms. It is in a range,, any drop below 26 is a buy as it is almost certain to see 28 a few days/weeks later. The spread is usually larger. 2nd, they do not need to listen to anyone looking for a buyout pop. They are aware of who is interested in them,, they also should be aware they have not been able to keep up with the mkt. They can also see the competition and erosion in many areas. If they could stop it they would have,,, at some point they will realize all those options will be worth more at a buyout (or break up) than they will be able to see independently in twice the time frame... "PS: From the perspective of someone who has no need or intention to panic sell, I honestly think COMS right now is about as risk-free as you can get with a tech stock. With good upside potential." Agreed unless they come out and say they fully plan on staying independent,,, then there would be a freefall because if anyone believes there are only a few shares being held for the buyout,, if they are quiet some will get bored and they will leave without an exodus... COMS is a good value issue at this time we agree,,, but it has been for a long time and there is little reason to believe it will rise in the near future independently,, and less reason to believe any rise will be sustained By the way-- I am in the black on it and have held for a much shorter time than you.. that should say something about SH equity...
