I think the question should be, what concerns me most about this.. and that would be the continued lack of response in price and volume to the ongoing MSDW table pounding. They seemed to have lost their clout. Great news, without positive price gains is not a good sign, even for the biggest BULL, long or short term!

don,
good point. i would be concerned if i did not know what is going on. the news on friday was not new news. it was just kind of a rehash. i would think it would be of much more interest to shorts than longs. us longs already expected to see dell and other rambus pc's in a week. btw have you noticed rmbs has gone from 50-90 in 4 months...msdw table pounding may be working better than you think..consider these facts.

regarding share price movement...consider these facts...

at the end of jan rmbs was at 110 with <1 million shorts.
in feb intel announced a delay in rmbs.
at the end of april rmbs was at 50 with >5 million shorts.
(clearly short selling depressed the price)
presently, rmbs is at 90 and we still have >5 million shorts.
(clearly longs are snapping up shares, and the shorts have not covered yet)

let's look at the share count..
23.5 million oustanding
5.1 million insiders
9.5 million institutions. did you know institutions have purchased over 1 million shares in the past 3 months. that is what is driving the price up. 50-90 in 4 months.
a private investor owns some 1.3 million.
if the institutions hold, there will only be about 7.5 million shares to play with. of course the institutions could very well continue to add.
i cannot imagine any long who understands the story selling right now...so tell me where do the 5 million shorts get their shares?
no wonder edelstone predicts a massive short squeeze.

now we are about to get zeev's long predicted crescendo. just 5 more business days. that is going to create, imo, tremendous interest in rmbs. the news will be unending for a while. new product announcements by multiple oems over the next several months. new intel chipsets. volume production announcements by rdram mfrs. not to mention consumer product announcements using rambus, and tate announcing the new rambus telecom businesses. oh yes, don't forget advertising...you just know the public is going to be educated on the second coming of the pc.
should be a helluva show!
