<Oh, by the way - have you (or anyone else) heard the rumor that AMD has actually ramped their AThlon shipments to 600,000 this quarter ? >

I have not had any recent updates but the last set of rumors call for about production of 6mu K6s and 2Mu Athlons for Q4 (is anyone aware of dramatically increased wafter starts in Fab 25?).

My somewhat reliable AMD source has fallen off the earth but as far back as May/June I was posting that production is not going to be AMD problem and they will build more than people are expecting them to. I wouldn't doubt that they could have 600 ku of product but I am unsure where they were shipping that stuff to.

The motherboard story has been a disaster so far and last week was first time I was upbeat on the motherboard front. But at this point it is hard for me to be sure we are over the problem zone...

You meant to say shipments and not production, right?

If it is shipments, how can they do that when there probably aren't enough motherboards for each Athlon?
