dan3 - <Getting back to my post, one of the most obvious alternatives for Intel, and what appears to be their current strategy, is to just assume that AMD will fail to produce anything substantial out of Dresden until Q3 or later, at which point Intel will have Willamette (its late, and I'm forgetting the roadmap but I think that's about right), and AMD will be in liquidation. This means push rambus, forego some early Coppermine sales, and just ignore Athlon. There is a good chance that this will be good enough. It's definitely one possible answer to "what should Intel do.">

This is certainly an extremely valid scenario for an outcome. But getting back to WC, I don't believe Intel wants to count on AMD not producing anything out of Dresden until Q3. In fact, I'm sure that is not plugged into the model.

I don't want to get into a guessing game. Honest, by the 1st week of October, things should be pretty clear. At least that's something as far as me providing some insight, I hope.
