Jon,
Mostly it is just little things. But there are certainly examples on SI. However, you may even find a few examples where people have found me to be a jerk. The fact is though that I live my life this way without expectation. It makes me feel good to make others feel good. If I were to itemize good deeds I would feel like I am dirtying my motives (striving for accolades for good deeds dilutes the good deed in my eyes). In other words, I would decline to give real life examples, but I am sure that you could find a few people that would say that I am a nice guy.

I would recommend watching the movie "Magnificent Obsession" with Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman. It isn't the pinnacle of moviemaking, but my basic philosophies are outlined pretty well. (I arrived at them independently though)

More importantly, it is the day to day little things that count the most.
