Interesting, CNBC hasn't mentioned the ebay competition at all this morning.. Almost like ABC news not mentioning the infoseek exec who was busted for soliciting a minor this weekend. (abc/go.com/infoseek/disney- practically one company now) I guess when we drop another 10 points, they'll have to say something. :)

You got to be careful when looking at the German markets. Looks like we will be down only a point at the open on the NASDAQ.

Don't follow that "germany down by 7 - 11%" stuff. If ebay is down 7% that means it sells around 131. There are buyers on Island willing to buy at 136. This means Germans don't have access to the internet?

To All, Everybody can sit here and debate the effects of this new consortium all day long. The bottom line is nobody knows the effect and won't know the effect until after it is all said and done. Personally, I think the new consortium is very bad news for ebay. This does not however, mean ebay is going to shut it's doors tomorrow. Ebay has the brand, and isn't going anywhere. They will always be a viable auction site. Will they be the king daddy ??? Only time will tell, but this much is for sure.......this consortium has the cash and the eyeballs/customers, to make this happen in a big way. Personally, I would not want to be long on this stock at this time. Even if they remain the goliath, the next year is going to be rough. Good Luck to all
