Re: "The people at Intel were impressive and gave us the confidence to buy stock rather than another mutual fund. And that has changed everything."

Hi DMF, that's great to hear!

Re: "The CSCO and SUNW meetings are coming up and I am trying to justify a long trip and the inevitable expense."

To avoid the expense, another option might be to view the meetings through the Internet. If you go, that would be great to hear a synopsis on the meetings.

Re: "What do you think the chances are of being misled by an annual meeting?"

Very low. These are reputable companies.

Re: "After all, it's a presentation with a purpose much like a presentation to win an account when the presenters have a great deal of information and can decide what to share and what to conceal."

Oh, I see. They will present the positives, but aren't they ethically (if not legally) obligated to present the risks and downsides too? They can't conceal anything which would negatively impact the company at a later date, because that would be illegally misguiding investors. Having said that, companies are permitted to have their own opinions and outlook on things. I can't help but think about how AMD's outlook has a pattern of "next quarter" without any apparent consequences.

Re: "Maybe I'm just paranoid. I like to survive..."

Sounds like Intel's philosophy! : )

Best,
