-- warning -- Zardoz spoilers..... don't read if you don't want to know the point of Zardoz...

Zardoz is this wierd 70s film... I brought it up earlier, I think thats why it came up. 70s technology paranoia films are my personal favorites. But anyway, Zardoz stars Sean Connery and its about this segment of society in the future... the interesting point about the film is they worship this creature "Zardoz"... all along you don't know what it is, then at the very end of the film it is revealed that Zardoz is actually the book "the wizard of oz"... the ard-of has been worn off from time.

I think the point of the film is that these icons from the past can get translated into completely outrageous positions as time passes... I think they were making a statement about the bible, fwiw.

As I say it was a pretty awful film but the premise was interesting, particularly since I saw it as a teenager and had never considered the topic before... some of my scientific friends love the film...
