FWIW Matrox Online Store...http://shop.matrox.com/products_graphics/gengraphicscards.htm

claims to have availability and at a damn good price too. Better call first to make certain.

Edit: oops MAtrox isn't in US. But whats the diff if your ordering online.

does anyone know of fax-sharing software that could utilize the one modem/line through the network at a relatively low-cost?

Earlier this year on this thread Sean Smith mentioned the name of a program designed to share one modem among multiple users on a network. This program would work with BBS style programs. I believe it should also work with FAX programs. Unfortunately I forgot the name of the program and the new "improved" Silicon Investor doesn't let one search more than 90 days back. Hopefully somebody with a better memory than mine will remember the name.

The following is from the comp.dcom.modems news group.

I think you need extra software. Try looking at
microsoft.com and
there's a product called SpartaCom (SAPS) which sounds like it might do the
trick. I have no idea how well (or indeed whether) it works!

If you have Microsoft Small Business Server it includes the Microsoft Modem
Sharing Server which (allegedly) "Allows small businesses to share modems
installed on the server. Eliminates the need for each workstation to have
their own modem. Reduces waiting time for connections because the server
automatically uses the next available modem in the pool to handle dial-in or
dial-out requests. " - see
microsoft.com

Hope this helps!

James

Another possibility is "Fax Mail Network for Windows". This is a shareware program. For more information and a free trial version go to electrasoft.com I have never used this program but I gather from reading the description anybody on a network can send a fax but only one computer can receive faxes.

Still another possibility. This from the comp.dcom.modems news group.

You set up one box as a fax server, and the rest as fax clients. WinFax 9 is among the programs that can do this.
