I'm just a simple Finnish country boy... we didn't have no fancy debate clubs in high school. You tried to hold on to your teeth through the ice hockey practice. That was all the strategic skills we needed. Which is coming handy right now, come to think of it.

The point of worldphones isn't "changing standards". Operators have by and large already chosen the standard they want to use and that is that. The point of worldphones is the new opportunities they create to manufacturers and operators. Phone makers can hike the phone price by 50-100 bucks or so. Operators in key areas like New York, entertainment complexes of Florida, Jerusalem, Paris, etc. get international roaming fees. If this clicks, the extra revenue may be substantial.
