KLP, maybe I'll post the goodnews about NEXTEL working fine thru the hurricaine and aftermath around here on the thread 4U then ... even though I don't have the stock or the service ... thinking of getting both. I'll ask around and report further findings of what worked, what didn't work, when I know more. Phones/power are probably still out in NC too I'm guessing; the only way to make an emergency long distance call here as I was told was from the police station with a real good reason. Sure do hope your friends are fine, probably they are and frustrated they can't receive calls or call out. Some of the communication shutdown might be power conservation/emergency measures too as right when there are dire straits. 909s, Joanie
