I don't remember seeing this posted...FWIW... News September 16, 07:57 Eastern Time NatWest joins Yahoo! on Internet banking LONDON, Sept 16 (Reuters) - Britain's National Westminster Bank Plc said on Thursday it had joined forces with Yahoo! UK & Ireland to deliver Internet account access to its customers from October. NatWest customers will be able to view balance and statement information through their personalised 'My Yahoo!' page or Yahoo! Finance and jump directly to the bank's own site natwest.com for transactions. NatWest said the deal marked the first banking partnership for U.S. Internet media network Yahoo! Inc. in Europe. It has a similar online deal with BankAmerica . Yahoo! also entered into a partnership with CheckFree Corp. this month to allow users pay bills and send cheques through Yahoo! Finance (http://finance.yahoo.com), one of the most visited of its more than 50 Web sites. NatWest, Britain's fourth biggest retail bank by market value, said it would also offer free Internet access and real-time Internet share dealing through NatWest Stockbrokers from late October. The bank, which currently has a direct dial PC banking service, is spending 100 million pounds ($161.6 million) this year to develop e-commerce ventures and card services business. But it has lagged behind its main rival, Barclays Plc, which already has an Internet banking offering. Yahoo! is one of the world's most popular Internet destinations. It shares closed at $162-6/16 on Wednesday. NatWest shares were unchanged in London morning trade at 10.86 pounds.
