Sorry to ask this again... but there were a lot of posts today... did anybody come up with an answer as to whether down syndrome can be determined in the first trimester?

I don't believe its possible to make the determination until quite late in the pregnancy, and fwiw I believe most down syndrome pregnancies are not brought to term. Would this be characterized as a late term abortion, anybody know? I will widen my net a little and ask for the names of politicians on the right and religious leaders who have a down syndrome child, or have adopted a down syndrome child - anyone?

BTW I wouldn't waste time with JLA, there isn't much there, and you'll find your inbox flooded with a bunch of lame one-liners every morning.
