Right now, as you can see, I have other things dominating my mind, but you deserve a reply and these are important questions.

The Jew is, or has become, a human person. The embryo is not, has not become, a human person.

That, of course is the key question.

In your judgment, at what moment in time, since you say not at conception, IS the embryo a human person deserving of protection from death? For me, I can't set any such time. I can't say "this second this embryo is not human, then bang, this second it is." But if you believe that at conception it isn't, and later it is, I think you have to say when and how it crosses that line and why you choose the point you do.

I turn the question the other way. Under what conditions is it okay for a person to kill another person? Society has long answered that: in self defense. If bearing the child will kill you, you have a right of self defense to destroy it. Otherwise, is it okay to take a life because something horrible short of death happened or might happen to you?
