Dr. Willie, ""an integral part of testing a strategy is to do "backcasting", whereby performance can be checked from past historical price movement... this method is often used by brokerage houses, hedge funds, and hotshot groups... more later "" The reason back testing usually fails to predict the future movement and validify a particular strategy is the chart indicators are rescaled.
