The i700plus multi-service iDEN(R) handset is equipped with the UP.Browser(TM) Internet microbrowser from Phone.com (Nasdaq: PHCM), enabling users to access the Internet; send and receive e-mail; and view and update contact information from the road. The rugged yet stylish i700plus handset, which combines Instant LINC(SM) (two-way radio), digital phone and alphanumeric paging, also features: -0- *T - Adherence to Military specifications 810 C/D/E for shock and vibration. - Highly visible yellow and black color combination or traditional black coloring. - Black rubber grips for added protection. - Lightweight portability measuring 6.2 x 2.3 x 1.6 inches and weighing 10.3 ounces with a standard NiMH battery. - VibraCall(R) silent alert to discreetly notify users of incoming calls and messages. - Missed Call Indicator, which provides immediate notification of unanswered calls. - Turbo Dial(R) one-touch dialing to make placing phone calls even easier. - Up to 250 minutes of talk time or up to 81 hours (more than three days) of standby time with a standard NiMH battery. *T The lightweight and compact iO1000 modem (85.6 x 54 x 10.5 mm) is designed to be embedded in another device, such as Diplomat, a modular device built on Microsoft(R)'s Windows(R) CE 2.1 operating platform. The rugged iM1000 modem (131.5 x 89 (top) and 112 (base) x 57 mm) is a stand-alone unit housed in a metal enclosure and typically mounted in the trunk of a vehicle. The iM1000 modem, or a Motorola Internet-ready handset, can also be connected to Diplomat. Diplomat records GPS data (location, direction, speed, date and time) at regular intervals throughout the day and transmits the data through a modem or handset to the Southern LINC network. The i700plus handset, iO1000 and iM1000 wireless modems, and Diplomat will facilitate Southern LINC's Informance Solutions(SM), which will be introduced in October 1999.
