Fortune Minerals announces sale of Ontex shares Listing: TSE, symbol ''FT'' Issued Capital: 17,586,669 TORONTO, Sept. 21 /CNW/ - Fortune Minerals Limited announces that it has entered into an agreement with IPO Capital Corp. to sell by private placement 5,714,286 common shares of Ontex Resources Limited at a price of 60 cents per share for aggregate proceeds of $3,428,571.60 (net to Fortune). The requisite approvals have been obtained from The Toronto Stock Exchange and the Alberta Stock Exchange and the transaction is scheduled to close on September 22, 1999. Fortune is selling the shares in Ontex in order to concentrate its activities on its core projects and properties in which the Company has direct participation. Upon closing, Fortune will be in a good position to pursue this objective by realizing a gain of approximately $1.38 million on the transaction and by increasing working capital to in excess of $5 million. Fortune will also continue to enjoy a significant opportunity in Ontex and its promising exploration projects. The Company retains 5,714,286 warrants to purchase shares in Ontex, exercisable at a price of 65 cents per share until December 16, 2000, and then 75 cents per share until December 16, 2001. Ontex (ASE: symbol ''ONT'') currently has issued capital of 39,036,506 common shares.
