Michael Foods and Patent Holder Receive Favorable Ruling
MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Foods, Inc. (Nasdaq: MIKL - news) announced today that it has received a favorable ruling from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) regarding the patents which it licenses from North Carolina State University (NCSU). The patents relate to processes for producing extended shelf-life liquid whole eggs. The PTO's Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences has reversed a patent examiner's rejections of 57 process claims under the NCSU patents licensed to Michael Foods.
