Could someone explain 'quiet periods'....
Read on another thread a couple of things...someone thought a quiet period was 30 days *before* the end of a quarter....and someone else thought it was *after* the end of the quarter....

Volume nearly everywhere seems down....even AMZN with some red hot PR in the print media...although AOL, ICGE, and GE seemed somewhat typical volume.... It could be any number of things...some day traders firms being investigated, Mr. Greenspan, FLOYD, and disasters just about every day... but I wonder if it has something to do with quiet periods....
Thanks! KLP
