A butterfly house is about 8"x8" and 2 feet tall mounted on a stake so it sits up a foot or two. It's painted all artsy craftsy so as to fit in with the butterfly friendly flowers and mounted low as butterflies aren't high fliers. It has almost slits for doors and I put twigs inside for them to rest on.

I let some milk weed grow for the Monarchs and thistle for the wrens and gold finches. I have one neighbor who threatens me with turning me in to the county each year over the thistle but since it's not the Canadian Thistle I can get fined for so I tell him to bite my butt. We're not on the best of terms.

We were wet early and dry there after and I haven't seen many butterflies or toads for that matter. My friends pond is full of frogs though.
