>>Is this based on a hope and a prayer...
or do you have some news?<<

Yes.

Seriously though, it doesn't take a genius to see where this stock is going. Look at ALL video game stocks right now. All of the companies that I am tracking (Similar products to NewKidCo) are at or nearing their 52 week highs... THQI is the stand out leader right now, and if you look at their most successful games (Rugrats, etc.), you will see that my confidence in NKCIF is not based on hope, prayer, or recent news... but is based on a well thought out investment in a very undervalued company. Do you realize what kind of money NewKidCo could be making next year?
BTW, your concern that Mattel may want to keep NKCIF's stock price low is not realistic... if a company as big as Mattel wants to acquire a company as small as NewKidCo, their stock price is not the main factor, their future earnings contribution is... so whether NKCIF is $2.5 or $25 per share is not something Mattel is worried about controlling right now.

>esecurities, if I remember right, the gamesites
>were always pushing back the shipping date
>last year for NewKidCo's games. Any reason
>to believe that won't happen this year.

"...The Adventures of Elmo In Grouchland is slated for release on both platforms for fall 1999, coinciding with the Columbia Pictures October release to theaters..." Source- May 13, 1999 NewKidCo.

The Adventures of Elmo&reg in Grouchland is scheduled for 1000 screens/national release on October 1. Pursuant to the two leading retail gamesites gamestop!com [Babbage's, software eTc] and EBWorld [Electronic Boutique] all NewKidCo pending Q3/Q4 1999 NewKidCo/Mattel products have been moved back as previously cited/documented on this thread...Elmo&reg Grouchland (GBC) is scheduled for September 29 (Q3) availability while Elmo&reg Grouchland (PS) is now scheduled for mid-November release...Further, the only tangible evidence regarding the integrity of any of these dates including the integrity of NewKidCo's relationship with Mattel is still our conversation with Steve Schneider, CFO, NewKidCo, in late August, as previously documented on this thread...

>Another point to consider; It isn't in Mattel's interest
>to see NKCIF move higher if they are going
>to buy them out.

"...In connection with this [Griffiths McBurney] financing, NewKidCo has granted to Mattel, Inc. which was a significant participant in the Special Warrant Financing...Such warrant is exercisable only in certain circumstances involving a change of control of the Company or the sale of all or substantially all of the video console assets of the Company or a bid by Mattel, Inc, for the shares or offer by Mattel, Inc. to acquire all the assets of the Company at a price which is at least a 15% premium to market which is not approved by the board or accepted by the shareholders..." Source- June 15, 1999 NewKidCo.

It is our opinion that no news is not good news specifically pursuant to this situation and in light of historically positive momentum with NewKidCo's industry and competition including the street's perception of this sector viz a viz PlayStation sales projections, (NASDAQ:KIDE) and (NASDAQ:THQI) share momentum...Arguably NewKidCo possesses precisely the essence of THQIs "execution-based business model" given Rugrats&reg is their lead revenue/share generator and given the "Rugrats paradigm" is precisely and exclusively NewKidCo's business model...yet no news and an out of date newkidco.com ... this is simply highly unusual and arguably [allegedly] negligent?, again, given it is September 21, 1999 and NewKidCo is not standing behind any ship dates nor confirming nor updating their [non-insider] shareholders regarding esecurities' late August interview with NewKidCo's Chief Financial Officer...it should be noted [and reminded] that NewKidCo never issued a formal release regarding Elmo&reg in Grouchland other than the ones they quietly slipped in on their website and announced non-formally at E3...would all this necessarily suggest a "Mattel Collar" around NewKidCo's stock price?...
