I was making this statement for close of a year now and posted this fact on The Chicken page for several months. Now it is "formal" <G>

Interestingly my beloved Lucent is mentioned there which overstated operating income by only a meager 17.5%. Not accounting for those accounting tricks LU actual operating income is 15% less.

And surprise surprise on the SPX 500 pension plans surpluses added around 3% in earnings for 1998. Now add the 3% A.G. option claim and over 3 years we wipe out all earnings for the next 2 years. Will the SEC force them to restate TRUE EARNINGS??

Wonder how nobody on this tread posted it.
