Way,way OT:

Doug, I tried to PM you about this, but I can't seem to find that feature anymore on the "new" SI. But about those songs you mangled, er, mentioned. <ggg>

"Hang Down Your Head, Tom Dooley" was a line from "Tom Dooley", a song about a Mr. Grayson, a beautiful woman and a condemned man named Tom Dooley.

The other song your made reference to is "The Ballad of Charley"--he didn't have a nickel for the fare increase, so he has to ride the rails forever 'neath the streets of Boston. Still there, as far as I know.

These were two very different songs. Hope you don't mind me showing off my Kingston Trio knowledge. <g>

Rick
