Mike and Stew, Thank you for your input on GMST. BTW, the Stephens 6/99 report was one of the best research reports I've seen. I think it is time to anticipate the tornado by taking an initial position.( Yes, I know Mike, that is against the rules of the FM, but that is a topic for another day).

rel4480,

As far a switching costs are concerned, they may be small from the consumer's perspective, i.e., the cost of a TV or VCR.

To what Mike has said I would add that in a purchase of a TV or VCR you would need to exclude the following brands in your search for such a competing product; GE, RCA, Proscan, Sony, Zenith, Philips, Magnavox, Marantz, Sharp, and JVC. Panasonic and Toshiba are likely to launch in early 2000 according to a statement from Henry during a CC.

Regards
Stew
