Great 2CU again, Welcome Back Joe!(forgot to say it yesterday got all into that I I I stuff about the storm so today is Belated Welcome 2U). *More Product Testing Results In From The Field* - Long distance pages came in on my SmartBeep but I couldn't call 'em back or listen to the messages.....Cable Was Down For Awhile, while Radio & Broadcast TV channels were always working - so cable internet was also down...... Still gathering more hearsay results such as - "Did Dish Satellite TV/Internet, Palm Pilot, and/or any other portable phone providers besides Nextel work the whole time of the storm and aftermath?? How about in-town ISP access numbers and 800-based business phone #s landline or cell or digital based?. How about other Pager-Oriented phone combo gizmos?" Will report results 2U as I ask local pals who have this stuff.*end of product test results for now**** There's a big report in WSJ today called "Telecommunications, Internet Cuts The Cord" that you could probably update, Joe; now me I I I been reading it all morning struggling for understanding. Can't forward the link cuzza subscription necessary, but it's right there up top the front page of WSJ - approx. 20 articles on the progress of wireless & companies involved. Some existing and coming mini-gizmos with the mini-os & text-only portals & browser coordinated are in a couple articles too. IC some Online Brokers R giving out good customized mini-gizmos as premium toys for wireless trading access lately. Getting Warmed Up on Stocktalk Biz Again re: xattxQualcommxNextelx3Com(Palm)xathmxBellxMicrosoftxAOLxIBMxetc,etc. most all Big Players were mentioned in this WSJ Report (except Lucents name was below the radar - hmmmmm you know what I always say the missing Co. is the one really being talked roundabout verrrrry interrresting). I read the news today Oboy....old news too much in the future but IMHO interesting is 3com plans to spinoff Palm IPO to shareowners & public 3rd quarter of 2000 ... now for the Bigs - looky xBellAtlanticx wants to get into nationwide wireless in a Biggest Business way by taking over majority of the USA div of recently merged xAirtouch/Vodaphonexwireless - gobblegobble Ms. PacMan yum - think xAti's had enuf time to re-tool itself from a Baby Bell into veddy newly British already? ....yep lets see if they can pull THIS one off, still waiting for xSBC/AITx merger to materialize and howzabout the chips falling as they may from that Atts deal giving xComcastx cable customers as premium for the USWMediax buy. Not to mention all them CBS network sales either hmmmm? Talk about a logjam, all this could set internetworks back a spell. Another phase of xMicrosoftx trial is today, could be an announcement of some sort in the offing hey ya never know.
