From A Good Guy @ PCS Show, rich> PCS 99 - The Big Easy - The Bigger Q! by: The_Rich_Janitor 38750 of 38751 Greetings from the Big Easy PCS 99 Trip Report - Day 1 Off the plane in New Orleans and walking out the gate, one could only feel that someone was trying to make their name known. Two billboards meet people deplaning with visions of Qualcomm Thin Phones. 5 new colors for our fashion conscious buyers. Interesting I thought as I stepped outside and made my way to the large Caddy that would take me downtown to my Bourbon Street Hotel. As the driver drove off, he asked me if I wanted a complimentary map of downtown. "Sure" I said as the driver handed me a fold up, credit card style map that read 'QUALCOMM - This way to the wireless future' boldly on the front. As we made our ways downtown I couldn't help noticing two large Qualcomm billboards announcing their booth location in large letters. As we passed Taxis on Interstate 10, I was amazed at the amount of advertising on the rear and tops of these automobiles. Qualcom, Qualcom, and more Qualcomm. I couldn't help wondering if I was attending a Qualcomm convention. As we reached the hotel, I asked for a receipt and I was handed a paper receipt that just had to take the opportunity remind me that Qualcomm was a would bear the paper that held my expense. The recipt read "Qualcomm - Dear Mr./Mrs. Accountant: Please excuse JANITOR fromthis fare of XXX. He/She was just staring out the window not trying to think about anything when he/she got a cool idea (the best ones happen that way) and overshot the destination 67 miles. Which is why he/she added a generous tip - Qualcomm! After checking into my hotel I went to a restaurant off one of the back streets of Bourbon. As I sat outside and drank my wine and awaited my blackened catfish, I washed as the taxis went by with their Qualcomm advertisements. So full from a greaqt cajun meal, I decided to ride a buggy back to my hotel (a not so lazy janitor would have walked), but the weather was beautiful and I wanted to enjoy the wind as I listened to the pitter patter of hooves walking steadily toward the fallin sun. By the way, on the front of the buggy was a discreet yet bold 2x3 sign that simply said "Qualcomm". As I sit in my hotel writing this first day report and as I prepare to go out and enjoy this New Orleans nite life, I can't help but notice that there is one company that is trying to make their name known. A name that will one day soon be synonomous with 3G wireless. That comapny is a small start up that has finally arrived by the name of Qualcomm. More tomorrow. - Janitor
