The Angry Stewardess.... >>This always reminds me of the angry stewardesses on airplanes while flying around the country. You know how every now and then you are served by one that seems to have that attitude ... "You know ... if I didn't have to deal with all you passengers, my day would be just great!" ;-)>> Scott: What would life be without these people? I mean, where would the balance come from? What marks would we all have to determine where we are relative to everyone else? I've had some of the most entertaining trips of my life flying from New York to Miami and back. Even learned to sing in Yiddish. My wife was in Beth Israel Hospital today as a consultant for Abbott Labs. She said she was grilled by the Executive Vice President who wanted to know what her skills where and why Beth Israel should believe anything she says, etc. Ahhh, the Big Apple. I've been thrown off more trading floors for my persistance and ability to bounce back against the odds. You dance and play the game. This is life. I told my wife, you go to the Big Apple and you play with the Big Boys. "If you can make it there......., etc." Every negative has the seeds to a bigger and better positive. For everyone wants attention. The bigger the ax, the harder they fall when you sincerely show them concern and attention to their needs. I don't mean to single out any ethnic group in this post. I have many many friends in many faiths. It's a wonderfully colorful world we live in. There are engineers inside Novell who I'm sure are some of the most closed minded, stubbornly brilliant developers you will ever meet. But the real world must meet and greet through a marketing portal of some shape and form. This is where all sides must take risks, dance the dance and earn the time and trust of others. For the real game is relationships and networks of relationships. And communities of networks consisting of relationships. I call this game, "Networking the Network At Higher Levels." Turn lemons into lemonade. Take every negative and invert it into a positive. Drives people crazy. Most will default off the dance floor into caves of cynicism and anger. It's the remaining dancers who are the REAL players. Novell needs to fly more of their engineers to New York more often. I'd be happy to lead a parade through the financial services industry. Peace. GO EAST!!
