I'm back from LA where I logged 171 miles on my EV1 rental in under 48 hours. Didn't do much different from an ICE rental other than pull in once to a fashion mall for a 45 minute charge, a (much needed) pee, 3 phone calls, and a coffee. THE EV1 IS AWESOME! Dunno why GM isn't really pushing them. This afternoon, I had to wail 25 or 30 miles to LAX to fly home. Got to Budget Rentals with over half a charge indicated having wailed down the LA freeways at 60+ with the airconditioner on. Wow, would the NiMh version blow my socks off! Diehards of this list may want to vacation in LA and rent an EV1. I am nervous that some pony tailed members may go for the Jaguar convertibles at Budget but maybe they would feel more hip in an EV1.
