>>Alta Vista Revisited<<

Well, earlier I have experienced AltaVista not working properly.

Since then Prodigy has been intermittent, and NetZero has been exceedingly slow and crashing Windows Explorer extension of the Internet Explorer. I reloaded a newly downloaded version of Alta Vista and found this thing started working (to my surprise). I don't know if they have improved tremendously in the past month or what.

Alta Vista is faster than NetZero and has not crashed my Internet Explorer yet. When Prodigy is working fine, it is faster than Alta Vista. However, right now, Alta Vista is faster than Prodigy because of Prodigy's problems.

I would eventually migrate to cable modem (or if DSL is available and competitively priced) and use Alta Vista as my first backup with NetZero second. I still use AIM to communicate with all my 'buddies' in realtime, of course.

Anyway, this is for your information. I tell it like a tough consumer.
