Bobo, were you present at NetWorld?
Yes

<The Stinger does not use any Aware IP but Nokia leaving ADI/AWRE? That is not what I hear at all, you need to provide more info than that. >

That info comes from two independent sources at Nokia. The sounded pretty definite in that the change is this month.

<Also, ST Micro is a licensee of Aware and from what I understand they are moving away from Alcatel because they will produce their own chips but they need Aware's G.Lite IP.>

I am a bit confused about this but my understanding (again from Nokia) is that the ST silicon going into the Diamond Lane product is an Alcatel license. I will check into further.

<Covad and Globespan? Covad uses ADI/Aware DMT chips from Nokia/Diamond Lane, not Globespan.>

Covad deploys about 60% SDSL as I understand it. This has not implication for any ADSL player and only benefits Conexant. I also understand that they deploy more IDSL and CAP-based ADSL than DMT.

<Did you hear anything from Cisco at the show? Their new NetSpeed products are all based on ADI/Aware DMT chips, I believe they are using the new AD20msp930 chip. >

Cisco did not have a box at N+I. I am working on this.

<As I have heard serveral people say, ADI and Alcatel are actually shipping multimode chips, while others are only shipping press releases. >

Probably true.
