ABYT NEWS--Alpha Bytes Announces New B2B On-Line Continuing Education Service for Vision Care Professionals

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Alpha Bytes, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board:ABYT) announced today that it has reached agreements with Quantum Optical, Inc. and Sola Optical USA to provide continuing education for vision care professionals on Alpha Bytes' H-NET(R) Internet portal. This is the latest business-to-business service provided by Alpha Bytes for the vision care industry and the first in a series of new revenue streams to be created through the H-NET(R) portal.

The Continuing Education program is the vision care industry's first web- based education facility for professionals who must undergo training every year in order to maintain certification. Quantum Optical provides lectures and educational presentations, home study
courses and in-office staff training across the country in all aspects of the vision care field ranging from basic optical principles to advanced laboratory design. Large manufacturers,
such as Sola Optical USA, the largest lens manufacturer in North America, are developing web-based educational articles for Alpha Bytes.

Approximately 100,000 licensed ophthalmology technicians, optometrists, retail opticians and other professionals must be re-certified each year in order to retain their licenses. H-NET(R)'s
Continuing Education program provides an opportunity for these professionals to earn the necessary credits and training for re-certification through a convenient on-line tutorial via the Internet.

Anton Stephens, Chairman and CEO of Alpha Bytes, said, "We are extremely satisfied with the progress of the advanced beta tests of the H-NET(R) Internet-based transaction network. As we work toward a full-market release in late fall, we have been developing multiple high revenue streams that could be generated through the Internet H-NET(R) portal. The Continuing Education application is the first of these new revenue opportunities. This provides enormous convenience and cost savings for professionals who must take board approved tutorials annually at great expense to maintain their licenses."

Alpha Bytes is the global leader in providing e-commerce business-to- business services to the vision care industry. With a streamlined network and a strong existing international customer base in the vision care market, Alpha Bytes has begun the deployment of the H-NET(R) Internet-based transaction network and vision care industry portal to as many users as rapidly as possible. The company's relationships with alliance partners Microsoft Corporation and
COMPAQ are designed to assure the company of the most powerful solution for an Internet-based transaction network that will set the standard of excellence in the healthcare industry.

from the ClearStation community,Also taking a small (paper for today) position in IIJI or Internet Initiative of Japan Inc. It was an August 4th IPO. Float is 6.6 m shares out of 43 m. It is up hugely on momentum trading so one needs to time entry carefully. Business Week and Bloomberg have given it some press last week. "Internet Initiative derives fourth fifths of its revenue from Internet fees paid by 5,500 business customers and 52,800 individual clients. The company's shareholders include Japan's Itochu Corp., Sumitomo Corp. and NTT Communications, conglomerates that are making strong investments in Internet-related ventures. The company has said it will use about one third of the proceeds from the IPO to increase its network, particularly the busy route between Tokyo and Osaka." Please DD.
