JC:, Re: Contract prices are above $8.
Do you have a source for that statement?
Assuming contracts are written for six to twelve months, are you talking about new contracts, or revisions to existing contracts? I think OEM's with MFC contracts will not be impacted as much as you imply.

>>Contract prices are above $8. I'm sorry but these prices have not been published as they are moving up too quickly.<<

jungle cat, that is one of the most illogical posts i remember hearing in a long time. spot prices moved much faster than contract and they are published. the logical deduction is that contract prices can be published too.

that is, IF what you say is true. don't make up illogical conclusions to try and hide the fact you CAN'T support your assertion.

JC, re: Contract pricing
Your position on this subject is rather amusing. You claim a "secret" source and infer that volume shipments of 64MB Drams will now be against $8.00 contracts. Since you won't divulge your "secret" source, how about answering a couple of simple questions that will protect the identity, and offer some knowledge to the thread?
How many contracts are you talking about? (One, two, or many?)
Are these new contracts or renegotiated contracts?
Is the source from a "mom and pop" shop or a major Dram consumer? (Or whatever).
One gets the impression that you're posting supposedly "insider" knowledge, and that we should trust you and your source. (That stuff happens a lot on the Yahoo threads).
But this is SI. Investors come here for knowledge. Let's keep it at SI quality.
