SAN JOSE, Calif., Sep 21, 1999 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Netro Corporation, a market leader in broadband wireless point-to-multipoint systems, today announced that the number of AirStar(TM) deployments has increased to 31 locations worldwide. These systems are installed in Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and the U.S. Of these deployments, seven(7) carry customer traffic, eighteen(18) are in trials and six(6) others represent showcase or demo installations sponsored by Netro's distributors Lucent or Siemens/Italtel.

Netro has continued to gain market presence in the global broadband wireless access market by adding AirStar installations in Ireland, Belgium, Greece, Holland, Lebanon, Germany, Argentina and the United States.
