BEL/VOD/ATI/GTE is huge for GSTRF

Nextel's claim to fame is that one can use it like a walkie/talkie - big deal. I want my next cellphone to double as a satphone and internet access device so I am connected EVERYWHERE (almost). We can do it now. Within a few years, BEL/VOD cellphone will be the globalstar phone for the cadillac model and the itsy/bitsy phone for the chevy model. Furthermore, the itsy/bitsy model will have a receptacle for the globalstar antenna plug-in and for mobile or carphone use.

Regards, Dave

VOD/Bell Atlantic/GTE was a big plus for G* You asked for additional thoughts. Here are two--

G* is now more valuable to VOD/BEL/GTE. The buildout issue is solved, basically. But, they still fail to address 10% of the US population, according to the press release. G* gives them the ability to offer/advertise service to 100% of the US. The additional market would presumably be those individuals who spend most of their time in a cellular area, but regularly go to an unserved or underserved area.

It also makes it easier for VOD/BEL to offer a fixed price plan including full nationwide roaming on the G* system. A higher percentage of minutes would now go through their existing infrastructure, for which they would not have to pay G* the 45 cents per minute.

Just thoughts.
Best Regards,
JS
