The only direct competitor I know of is GraphOn (ticker GOJO).

They have a UNIX/Linux equivalent of Metaframe, plus they are bringing out jBridge which is just like Metaframe but does not require MS Terminal Server underneath, just vanilla NT. Even though GraphOn is small, they have strong partnerships with major players (Sun, IBM, Alcatel, Corel), and being able to offer access to both Windows and UNIX/Linux apps is a strong competitive lever. There's some rumor that SunRay uses GraphOn's RapidX technology for at least part of what it does - haven't been able to confirm that.

Microsoft is both a competitor and a partner, in that for some applications MS Terminal Server may be enough, but in other cases MetaFrame is required.

Citrix has a strong track record and has been able to maintain excellent growth. At the same time, it has helped create a new market segment, which always fosters competition, and sometimes makes it easier for a competitor to get a decent chunk of the market.
