Info regarding the Proflowers news release:

Today's Proflowers deal is NOT the big news MGCN will be reporting shortly. Proflowers was so convinced of the value of being associated with MegaChain that they requested that the news of their signing on as a MegaChain vendor be released as soon as the deal was closed.

food for thought: CMGI bought Adforce, ADFC, to "strengthen its stable of online advertising related properties."

MGCN update: 10/18/99

Number of firms that are negotiating with Megachain to become vendors:
130

Number of hits Megachain's box on the Telus yellow pages in mybc.com is averaging:
12,500 per day

Megachain recently hired another full time sales and marketing rep to
negotiate with current and prospective vendors, basically to keep up
with the demand. Of those 130 firms, the number that have already
signed up as vendors, or are very close to signing up, is at least in
the dozens. A subset of these will be involved in the initial launch.
Other vendors ad campaigns will then be cycled in over the days and
weeks following the launch. The plan is to frequently change campaigns,
adding new vendors and new ad promotions, to keep things fresh for
clients and agents, and to maintain enthusiasm and momentum.

I reported earlier about the merger that is creating telus from the
former sympatico. When that merger is completed, telus will be the
second largest ISP in Canada. It is obvious by MGCN's presence on the
mybc.com pages that Telus is now a Megachain 'superagent'. MGCN's IR
dept will also directly confirm, when asked, that Telus is signed up.
The reason that fact has not been made public in a news release
(similar to the uniserve ISP news release) is that the Telus legal
department has put virtually all news releases on hold while they work
on the legal details of their merger.

Tom Lavin should be returning to Vancouver from London today, where he
has been negotiating with Greenchip. As reported in MGCN's news
releases, Greenchip bought the option to the EEC franchise of
Megachain. Last week's negotiations concerned the actual sale of the
franchise itself.

The huge selloff in the entire US stock market these last few days has
brought MGCN's price down also. A golden opportunity to buy more shares
and average down.

Final note: For comparison, look at NCNT, Netcentives. Isn't
megachain's program at least as good, or better, than NCNT's? To be
ultraconservative, lets suppose megachain's program turns out to only
be one fourth as successful. Now look at NCNT's market cap, and compare
it to MGCN's market cap. What would MGCN's stock price be if it had
only 1/4 of NCNT's market cap? I've given you enough numbers today. You
do the math.
