ANd if she's using adjectives, I think that's really very precocious!
One of the great joys of children is that you get to see the world new all over again through eyes that were blinded by age and cynicism and overexposure. The humor in big rocks-- as opposed to her little ones-- well- that IS funny. All the small details are miraculous.

I think sometimes parents get upset when they take children on trips and come home to find out that nothing of "Importance" stuck.
We made several trips for reports or to enrich topics in elementary school== Boston, CHarlottesville, Philadelphia, San Francisco, San ANtonio, DC.
Ammo has no memory of these places at all in terms of history. The other day he said he would like a secret room, "like that guy in Salem."

We finally figured out he meant Nathaniel Hawthorne's bedroom. He had no memory of the literary facts, but he remembered the house in far greater detail than I did, even described a picture that he liked on a wall of an elephant that drank beer.

They will look at the ant carrying a crumb while you are looking out at endless vistas in the distance. It's sometimes hard to adjust, but it is a great gift if you can.

Youth is happy because it has the ability to see beauty. Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old.
