Matt, who exactly is expecting the 'big one' aside from Luc Taurus? well-known crash prophet Peter Eliades e.g. recently stated "the time window for a crash has closed". mind you, i'm not predicting the 'big one' either, but allow me to remind you that great earnings and lots of investment cash are no guarantee it won't hit. in '29 U.S. corporate earnings were at a record high, and the investment trusts were flush with cash just before the crash. sorry for dredging up '29, i just wanted to point out that it's more a matter of confidence than earnings or cash on the sidelines that determines whether an extremely overvalued market can get even more overvalued. regards, hb

The problem is that so is everyone else. And the simple truth is that "the big one" cannot happen when everyone is ready. It can't happen that way. But there were too many things that didn't add up. Earnings are terrific, economy couldn't be better, is that statement an oxymoron -gg- Tell all that bull money that gapped up SUNW yesterday after a parabolic rise that "a big one" is around the corner. by the way, when i saw that it made me very nervous. The Dow taking out the rising bottoms trendline, i think will probably put a few eager beaver Dow Theorists on a sell signal, to beat the crowd when/if it takes out 10,409. bb
