I love your "silver lining" attitude Joanie. I like to joke as much as anyone when trouble's afoot, and appreciate when others can too. Did you like the "Pussywillow in a Wetsuit" remark? Lava, being a water dog, would have just retrieved a boat somewhere. <g>
Yep, we just gotta make lemonaide from lemons when God tosses 'em to us.

I'm happy that Madam Ruth saw that about my job situation, but I'm still believing that if it does happen, it's going to be with a different company...which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Things around here are more than shuffling...there is a drawdown in effect, and my group is one of the last on the block. Appears to be a chopping block too. Really, I think I'll be looking at a different set of walls before the end of the year. CSCO has my resume. :*)

I'll check the print edition of the WSJ today for the article. If it doesn't have it, this might be the kick I need to sign-up for the paperless edition. Either way, I'll let you know.

Dr. Lojiks quacked BEAS at 30 yesterday for the near 909. Good for her, as it's down today to 28. That buy-in of hers at 16 was sweet...100% her pick too, no influence by me...she gets all the credit. ORCL continues to impress me. Now 45...let's see...bought at 12.25 (split adjusted) now 45...that 909 times 3.67. Love it and letting-it-ride. My favorite thing about ORCL is that I bought a handful for...(are you sitting down)...my granddaughter (yeah, I'm only 37...so what!) <g>. Anyway, I bought it on her first birthday 2 years ago, and it looks like her college tuition is going to be more than paid for by the time it comes around. Thank you ORCL!

I've trimmed some of my high flyers (CAMP, CNXT, AREM) so have the powder to burn. Carolyn tossed a couple my way and with what you put up there, I should be able to come up with something. I like the spinoff idea you mentioned...perhaps that's a way to go. I sure have had good luck with the spinoffs to date (thanks for CNXT Joanie)!

Anyway, I burned my 400 calories on the cross-trainer this a.m. and now I'm rambling, so gotta get ready for work. Thanks for the 909's Joanie...more 909's please?
Palz,
-Joe

I'm sorry I have been out all day - Charter working on upgrades in my neighborhood all day. Which is fine, we were entertaining a visitor from Austria. Anyway, can't complain, because pretty soon I can discard my hybrid modem.
Re your telcos, etc., I have been reading many, many thread and articles on this issue, because you know I like it. It is coming. Elmatador can really help us all on this subject, too, because he is in the business. (See -we're talking about you!) Anyway, from what I gather, CSCO is a bigger play right now than LU. LU and, to some extent, T, are late to the party.
More later, I have a lot of catching up to do.

909s,
Carolyn
