Somebody on the AMD thread posted that - and I believe it is 100% wrong.

Interesting question - since all the "state of the art" FLASH production is don ein Japan at FASL - run by Fujitsu - my guess is that the FASL equipment differs WIDELY from AMD's.

For example, AMD uses ASML steppers or stepper/scanners and I would bet that FASL uses a Japanese supplier - Nikon or Canon. I would bet that is just the BEGINNING of equipment issues.

Even outside of equipment differences, AMD has shown itself to be very CLUMSY at bringing up new processes in its Fab 25 - and Fab 30 doesn't appear to be any better.
