I'm not in contact with DRAM sellers or buyers, but I have seen several news reports of contract pricing in the $8 area. Here is one such report from 9/15/99:
electronicsweekly.co.uk

I've been visiting this web site for a few months. To date, their reporting seems credible and has been accurate.
electronicsweekly.co.uk

I hope this information is of use to you.

mb, According to ICIS-LOR, a month ago average contract pricing was under $6.00 The question for me is,
"Are contracts being renegotiated? Or are increases only for new contracts?"
I think that's important because the majority of contracts for this busiest of seasons were probably negotiated some time ago.
