Here's a classic semi-log chart. The y-axis is logarithmic and the x-axis is linear, thus semi-log. (A log-log chart puts a logarithmic scale on both axes) quote.yahoo.com^DJI&d=my It won't look scary unless you've ever seen it plotted linear-linear. :>(
