Matthew,

I've been shorting QQQ since July, putting on and taking off positions and averaging during extended moves.

You can't jump in "the same day" and do well (in my experience, anyway). It's a thoughtful but relaxed exercise, because indexes don't move fast. I also find them easier to play than stocks, using only the most common TA notions of price/volume, trend lines, distance from and velocity to/from the moving average, etc. The hardest part is remembering to take the money once in a while <g>.

Also, given the year-to-date gains on the QQQ components, there's not much downside risk, IMHO, even if you play this simple tune moderately clumsy :)

Regards,

doug

Matt,

We may dip in the AM. May be a good time to short-term cover.

Regards,
