Jimbo, Many thanks for the links to ValueAmerica. I haven't bought a modem yet. Have been trying to determine if the incremental performance I can get from upgrading from 28K to 56K is worth it. In about 3-6 mos. I will get ADSL service anyhow, so I am not sure the $100-$150 for a new modem will get me significant improvement, especially for only a few months. BUT.................I needed a new vcr so picked one up through the special promo. Again, many thanks. Best of luck, f
